Every guide keeps its own scale.
We retain MICHELIN Keys, Forbes Five-Star, Four-Star and Recommended distinctions, 50 Best ranks and La Liste’s 100-point scores.
The number of guides with confirmed results describes our evidence coverage. It is not a hotel score or a measure of agreement. We do not calculate a Consensus score or a taste-match percentage.

Five distinct rating statuses.
- Recognized
- A distinction, rank or score is documented in the source.
- Not listed
- Absence has been established in a specified official edition and scope.
- Not rated
- The guide explicitly states that no rating was assigned.
- No current award
- The verified current edition has no award, separately from any past recognition.
- Unverified
- Available evidence is not sufficient. A missing collection record is not evidence of an absent award.
Edition years are not check dates.
Checking a 2025 award in 2026 does not make it a 2026 award. Unspecified editions are kept separate. Guide pages sort results within one edition, scope and category at a time.
Our Forbes source archive spans multiple snapshots; each published ranking uses its checked edition snapshot. La Liste results keep the public page coverage without treating display order as a rank or proof of Top 1000 membership.
Opening is not room renovation.
Building restoration, rooms, bathrooms and public areas are separate scopes. Room work is shown separately from public-area work. Unknown does not mean original interiors or no work.
Up to 25 m² does not mean a minimum of 25 m². When the entry category is unknown, we do not substitute the smallest collected room.
What is published today
Guide lists contain entries with checked editions, results and sources. Explore, destinations and comparison share the public hotel collection, including hotels without photographs. Photos retain their reuse evidence and credits. Unresolved identities stay private; differing results in the same edition are shown together.
We prioritize official hotel and guide sources, retaining archive and supplied-dataset references for historical editions. Prices, inventory and booking availability are not provided.
Personal notes stay personal
My Edit contains the editor’s real stay and interest records. None are published yet; absence is not converted into “not stayed”, a wishlist or a zero score. Comparison selections only keep hotels side by side in the current tab.
